Planning Your Breast Augmentation Procedure

woman in silver bra against a white background Breast augmentation improves the size and shape of the breasts. Consistently one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures in the United States, breast augmentation also creates ideal symmetry and projection, helping to produce optimal contours and complimentary dimensions between features. But to accomplish this, many factors must first be taken into consideration.

What are My Breast Implant Options?

We offer a complete range of breast implant options at the Centre for Aesthetic + Reconstructive Surgery. This includes:

  • Implant Type: Silicone Gel
  • Implant Shape: Round
  • Implant Size: Pre-filled

Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Andrea Doyle offers breast implants made by Sientra®, a leader in the breast augmentation field. Should your implants deflate, rupture, or otherwise fail, the company provides replacements of the same style at no charge.

Where can Implants be Placed?

There are two primary breast implant placement options: subglandular (above chest muscles) and submuscular (below chest muscles). A third option, dual plane, places implants partially above and partially below muscles in the chest.

Implants are often inserted through an inframammary incision in the natural crease where breasts meet the chest. However, they can also be placed through a periareolar incision (around the nipple) or a transaxillary incision (through the armpit) when appropriate.

Will My Results Look Natural?

Dr. Doyle’s primary goal is to produce natural-looking results that complement surrounding features and enhance the entire frame. To accomplish this, she will carefully listen to your desires and thoroughly evaluate your torso. She will also use the Arbrea Labs 3D Simulator, a next-gen medical augmentation simulator that enables you to “try on” different breast shapes and sizes and provides immediate 3D visuals that allow you to see your results pre-surgery.

More convenient, comfortable, and accurate than the “rice test” and similar methods of visualizing augmentation results, 3D augmentation simulation produces a clear picture of how different breast augmentation choices will impact outcomes. This allows you to fine-tune your procedure with Dr. Doyle and helps to ensure the options selected will produce the most pleasing results.
