If you are interested in addressing signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles, you will be happy to know Dr. Doyle and the Centre for Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery have a range of options for you. Whether you are looking for a surgical procedure or a non-invasive option, the Centre for Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery can help.
While generally known by their brand names of Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, and Xeomin, these solutions fall into a class of non-invasive treatments known as neuromodulators. Dr. Doyle and her team work with you to develop a holistic treatment plan that targets how to best revitalize your appearance and turn back the clock for wrinkles and fine lines. Dr. Doyle’s years of experience as a board-certified plastic surgeon gives her specialized knowledge of facial anatomy, knowledge necessary to create the best treatment plan and outcome for you.
How to choose the treatment that’s right for you?
These treatments are injected into the skin to minimize and soften wrinkles. In particular, they reduce wrinkles that form from muscles that contract under the skin. These can include crow’s feet, smile lines, frown lines, and more. The Centre for Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery provides four types of neuromodulators for facial rejuvenation.
Botox®
Used in small doses, Botox can temporarily prevent certain muscles from moving, smoothing out the skin. Botox has a long history of safe usage, being first introduced in 1989. It has been approved by the FDA as a cosmetic treatment since 2002. In general, Botox treatments last an average of three to four months.
Dysport®
Dysport is a neuromuscular blocker that spreads more quickly than Botox. It is intended for use by those under the age of 65. Like Botox, its effects are temporary, lasting on average three to four months. It is fast-acting, and treatments tend to be a bit less expensive than Botox.
Daxxify®
Daxxify treats wrinkles on the forehead, crow’s feet, smile lines, neck bands, and more. Daxxify treatments are longer-lasting than other options, providing smoother skin for up to nine months. These longer-lasting results are an appealing aspect of Daxxify.
Xeomin
Sometimes referred to as “naked Botox,” Xeomin does not have added proteins attached to it. This makes the body less likely to create antibodies that can neutralize its effects. Xeomin has been shown to last four to six months and is a cutting-edge neuromodulator.
